Pretty sure our other pitchers wouldnt consider it laying down. You still can win with them (although it helps if you throw legal pitches and you cant predict that). Emotions was starting to hit the team after the in the park so letting summer calm down and focus on game 2 is a good thing imo.
There’s a hit.
Yes I’m speaking up. It’s the most crucial time of the season. Players make a few mistakes that could be overcome, and the coaches compound it by pulling your only arm that will win at this level. Yeah if we don’t score we’ll have a fresh ellYson for next game. But I guarantee the moment we pulled her this game was over.
It is not laying down. It is about being smart with the percentages. They can still bring Ellyson back in if the Cajun offense proves it can score. If not, you have a reasonably fresh Ellyson for the second game.
If you leave Ellyson in the game and the Cajuns cannot comeback for the win, Ole Miss will take the second game (Ellyson will not have enough in the tank).
A key will be how many innings the Cajuns can force Molly Jacobsen to throw in this game (being competitive and scoring some runs). We do not want Ole Miss to pull her and rest her for game #2.
