Southern Miss went to 9 straight regionals in the 2000s. Southern miss is a peer program for us and I’d put them ahead of us over the last 20 years.

TCU went to 4 straight CWS then missed regionals last year. Southern miss recently missed 4 straight regionals as well. If you work somewhere long enough you will have rough stretches.

I could handle missing 3-4 regionals in a row if we had gone to 9+ straight. The issue is we make a regional, then miss 1 or 2 straight. Then make a regional, then miss another. That’s the consistency in this program. 2013-2016 has proven to be an outlier.

And if it were up to you we would have gotten rid of him and missed the best 4 year stretch in program history. Not exactly a valid point to get rid of him. The program was funded with peanuts during most of its existence

No more than to say bringing in someone else could have buried the program to lows we have never seen either. The same expectations that aren’t being met were made by him. Everyone has a different timeline of when it’s time to move on, the majority don’t think it’s time. Doesn’t make anyone wrong, it’s a difference of opinion. The way tony has ran the program for 25 years has earned him that time to fix it.
