Rice never needed fixing until Graham turned 105 years old.
Southern Miss went to 9 straight regionals in the 2000s. Southern miss is a peer program for us and I’d put them ahead of us over the last 20 years.
TCU had gone to 9 straight regionals before moving up to the Big 12.
Name a program that goes through stretches like we do and has the same coach for 25 years. The stretch I’m referring to is not making back to back regionals in 12 years.
I could handle missing 3-4 regionals in a row if we had gone to 9+ straight. The issue is we make a regional, then miss 1 or 2 straight. Then make a regional, then miss another. That’s the consistency in this program. 2013-2016 has proven to be an outlier.

Who’s to say another coach couldn’t come in and do better? You are using hindsight because we had a magical run from 2013-2016.
2017-2019 is making 2013-2016 look like an outlier of a time period in this program’s history. People are quickly forgetting about that run because of the current run.
9-7 ULM. Gave up two that inning but a wicked breaking ball gets them out of further damage.

No more than to say bringing in someone else could have buried the program to lows we have never seen either. The same expectations that aren’t being met were made by him. Everyone has a different timeline of when it’s time to move on, the majority don’t think it’s time. Doesn’t make anyone wrong, it’s a difference of opinion. The way tony has ran the program for 25 years has earned him that time to fix it.
