Lefty catchers are Unicorns in baseball above LL.

like lefty infielders. I’m sure it’s changed but historically aren’t there a lot more right handed hitters, making a throw from a left handed catcher more impeded? Lefty infielders have to throw opposite their body to first. Last 1 I remember here was Justin borque at 2nd

I sure hope that we can get the game in today. If I'm not mistaken, in the event of a rain out the higher seed advances.

Here are the rain out rules for regional. If we don’t play another game this weekend, we will advance.

Regional. If inclement weather limits play, every effort has been made to complete competition by Sunday and competition cannot be completed by Monday, the team that will advance to the finals will be based on the following:

    0 games played Highest seed
    1 games played Highest seed
2 games played Highest undefeated seed
3 games played Highest undefeated seed
    4 games played Highest seed
5 games played Highest undefeated seed
6 games played Winner of game 6 unless each team has one loss, therefore the teams are tied, then:

    1) Head-to-head competition.
    2) Highest remaining seed.

Not sure of the rules, but 1. That would be complete horse sh * t, 2. Seems as though regionals in the past have carried over til Monday if necessary, as the men did in 2014 against MS State. Would sure hope that would be the preferred option for dealing with weather.

Baseball regional if necessary games are always on Monday now (played the 2007 A&M if necessary on the Monday). They went away from the 3 games on Saturday and both championship games (if necessary) on Sunday quite a while back. Softball still follows the 2-3-2 format.

It is simple. If no more games are played in the Oxford regional (5 total were played), the Cajuns will advance. If Ole Miss wins Game 6 and a Game 7 is not completed, Ole Miss will advance.

When it gets to that second tie breaker, why go back to the SEC bias? Why not let the body of work at the regional control and go to:

1 least runs allowed in the regional.
    2. Most runs scored in the regional.

Give the presumed advantage to the team that entered the championship game undefeated. But no.

Why the bias of going to least runs scored over most runs scored?

What a horrible end to a season that would be. Let’s not even let that scenario enter our minds....wiped clean.
