NCAA/SEC Conference nepotism.

I think some of you aren't understanding how the selection process is done and who does the selecting. NO NCAA staff are involved in making selections. This year the national softball committee has no representation from the SEC but does have an SBC rep in Troy. The Southern Advisory committee adds Georgia Southern, and McNeese to the equation as well. Beth Torina, LSU head coach, is the only SEC rep in any of the regional advisory committees.
You can complain about the process, selection criteria etc. but its difficult to complain about nepotism or collusion when the two suspects don't have any say in the matter.
It amazes me how much confusion there still is on this board about RPI and the selection process when Brian explains how it all works.
He has done an excellent job of explaining how the RPI includes your entire body of work. Not why it becomes irrelevant once it goes to comittee. He has in fact expressed shock at some of their decisions.
I don't understand why when the subject is UL, you imply their decision should just be accepted as justified.
Ole Miss 17 road games. (losing record)
Louisiana 22 road games (2 losses)
Of course Ole Miss should host, their travel skills are nill. James Madison is the victim.
RPI looks at the entirety of the "quality of competition."
Ole Miss is below Louisiana in RPI because they didn't perform across the board.
When Louisiana had the #1 ooc RPI in the country, the Farmer led committee made the excuse to focus on the bottom end of their schedule.
Why does Ole Miss' bottom end get ignored just because they faced a quality top end. They have an,anchor that drags them down, losses.
