No. That is not why he transferred. A family member of mine is personal friends with Sr, the former Cajun defensive coordinator. They speak on a weekly basis. It was a not agreeing with the coaches thing. Nothing to do with playing as a freshman.

Jim Hightower isn’t going to let scholarship offers change his philosophy on who plays. He is a stand up guy, abides by his morals and always puts a respectable product on the field. This isn’t going to change with Howard just like it didn’t change in previous years.

I could not disagree more with that statement about jimbo and his staff also.

Did STM win the State Championship last Fall?
Was it with this soon-to-be senior QB?
Was this soon-to-be senior QB a big reason why?

If the answer to the above three is all “YES”, then I’m not seeing Hightower and Padgett suddenly choosing to start a sophomore with no real varsity experience unless the senior starts to really struggle.

He’ll get playing time, but he won’t start unless the proven incumbent gives them a reason to start the PROJECTED rising star.

It’s that simple. No dilemma.

It was why he did 6 or 7 years ago. Time changes many things. It’s a fact that time does not change.

I would be shocked. Holstein is a senior with multiple D-1 offers. I would think Howard will get some playing time. But you don't bench a senior who has played well as Holstein

I have seen Holstein, the Sonnier kid at Lafayette high and the LeBlanc kid at TC. If the later 2 had Holsteins frame they'd be getting the same offers as him. I went to the TC / LHS spring game last week and the kid from terulings absolutely threads the needle with pin point accuracy. The LHS kid throws avery good ball as well with above average arm strength. They are just a little under sized and don't have that 6'4" frame as the STM kid. IMO from the games I saw with Holstien he is being a little over recruited based on his size and potential.

That is not true at least accoding to a fellow TC alum that works with both walker and sammy on a regular basis. I have asked the former NFL'er that exact question, who he would go with right now as his starter? His answer "walker has great upside but the TC kid is more polished at this point". I am sure Cajun Vic knows more than the Super bowl QB though. We are talking Sr and Sophomore to be that makes sense.

Didn't I show you that last year, STM changed its long standing position that freshmen do not dress out for varsity football and let Howard dress out?

So, they have already changed things for Howard.

Are you saying that when Holstein and Landry were splitting time at QB and Cambry got some mop up duty on the varsity there were two others - freshmen that also dressed out and took snaps at QB on varsity? That is definitely news. Do you have some names?

I didn't say they are QBs, just that they were freshmen.
