Another way to look at it is Dou Gueye most probably wouldn’t be here if Miller stayed. He is the current leader in rebounds per minute played (albeit about 2 less per 40 than Miller last year). The rest of Gueye’s numbers are very similar to what Miller put up over his career. Dou is also one of only 3 guys who has played every game. Miller may have made a slight difference with an uptick in his production but it would have to mainly be considered a wash.
That is not an obvious prediction and even if they would have been, they very well may have been to the detriment of the team. In the 2017-18 year, we would bring him in off the bench when we were doing well and the ball would automatically stop moving. When he got the ball he'd isolate on someone or try to take on 3 defenders and turn it over. His 3pt shooting percentage went way down when he tried to start shooting so many more of them. His defense was bad, really bad and playing more minutes would have made that more obvious in an expanded role. He was second on the team in turnovers even though he played many less minutes than the starters. Like I said, there is nothing you will say to make me think differently.
