Thread: Burnt ROUX: Miller Time is Up (at UL)

  1. Default Re: Justin Miller Leaving the UL MBB Program

Detroit Mercy had a nice little run from 09/10 season - 12/13 season. But has been next to awful since then.

In 09 the went 20-15, in '10 the went 17-16, their best two years recently were 11/12 and 12/13. In 11/12 they went 22-14 and won the Horizon League Championship and lost in the first round of the NCAA to Kansas, in 12/13 the went 20-13 and lost in the first round of the NIT. Since then it has been really bad.

    13/14 season 13-19
    14/15 season 15-18
    15-16 season 16-15
    16/17 season 8-23
    17/18 season 8-24
    18/19 season 11-20

I wish Justin all the luck in the world because he seems like a good kid who worked extremely hard to get to where he is. I will be following him to see how he does at Detroit Mercy. I think with the issues they have had in recent seasons he will have a chance to come in and contribute very quickly.

In Justin's freshman year, he had a great game against Texas Southern. That was a Blackham Coliseum game and Davis was at Texas Southern at that time. Probably played a factor in his going to Detroit Mercy.

I remember him having a good game then.

  5. UL Basketball Miller's Net Stop

I had a good three years down here," the 6-foot-6, 245-pound forward said. "It's not like I had a bad career there or anything. ... Last year, I really wasn't a main focal point of the offense like I thought I'd be. I thought I'd be the second or third option, but I ended up being fourth or fifth on the offensive end

Article says he will sit out one year. Not many schools are willing to give a guy a scholarship for two years when he can only play one. Good luck to him over there.

    Default Justin Miller

Justin Miller has been granted authority to play this season at Detroit Mercy. Not sure what basis of his appeal was but it was granted. That means he will play against his old teammates in the Las Vegas tournament. Cajuns play Detroit Mercy in that tournament.

Anyone hear any news regarding Marquetti's hardship appeal?

We had no luck with that appeal. He simply played in too many games last year for there to be any chance to get another season.
