If those players were at Cecilia HS, Marlin would have hired Scotty Borel. Marlins era is almost done, two more years at best.
    That's pretty STRONG.

10 years of results are enough of a sample size for me to know what we have as a staff. Period, this HC won't get us to the NCAA consistently(2/5yrs).

Mike needs no defense. He presents data, facts as he understands them and opinions based on that. He admits his biases. He respects our b-ball staff. That does not cloud his judgement of the less than desired results. He also treats students, coaches, and RP posters with respect. I wish all posters behaved as respectfully as he does. Anyone who disrespects Mike tells me their opinion and character are suspect. Ok. I defended him though not necessary.

I'm not talking about the staff. I was a big defender of Bob for many years. Not anymore. I agree he needs to produce this year with what he's getting paid. It doesn't change the argument against Strong.

It's not just basketball. Baseball is loaded with a boatload, just look back at past posts this baseball season.

Hey hey! I resemble that remark.

ps Dale Brown did this for years.

I am the guy who said Dou is a good ball handler. I should have added his JUCO coach is the source for that view

I've known Mike for years and when asked questions he gives you a straight answer. Many times he relays what coaches have told him about certain recruits or current players without mentioning the source for good reason. So if recruits don't pan out in our program, it's not a failure of evaluation by CajunMike, but it falls on the staff and the player at times as well.

Over the years, I've done the same when talking about football recruiting. If a pass on a scouting report on a athlete, usually it came from someone that is recruiting him or his HS coach. It's funny, but when programs are winning no one seems to care about how many players washout the program, but as soon as the program has a losing season people tend to want to lash out at others when it comes to recruiting information because of the results.

When it comes to recruiting, everyone has opinions. I find it entertaining when you read someone lashes out at the so called recruiting gurus on this board because of poor performances, but they don't know how many times a former NFL QB has been wrong on recruits. We have a QB on scholarship now that he said could play at this level and to this day that kid has held a clip board on the sideline. But you won't hear that on this board. In fact, he was wrong on a few other signees as well, but that doesn't make him a poor judge of talent. The bottom line all programs suffer around 25 attrition rate as an average over 4 years of a class. Some programs are a lot higher.

I did mean Dou was a good ball handler for a forward. I was not comparing him to guards.

Those are both D1 schools. Rumor has it that Justin may be able to claim some type of waiver allowing him to play at the D1 level next season without having to sit out a year. May me some merit to the rumor if he is truly set to visit those schools. I have no idea what the basis of the waiver would be.
