Embarrassing
Embarrassing
Both teams have 9 hits, both teams have 1 error. We lose by 7 runs.. Furious

Oh well. Cant win em all. Gotta go strong this weekend. Hopefully USM wont crowd the plate.
Also.. We can't do crap with two outs.. In 3 years we haven't had a team that can get a clutch hit..

11-4 Final
Its not good to lose 11-4, but give me a break with the "Embarrassing" stuff. Overreact much? Its the 2nd week of the season, rough outing for the pitchers (mainly in 1 inning.)
Its way more frustrating than embarrassing.
Gotta move on to just as tough a team in USM. Hopefully, the weekend pitchers dont duplicate the mistakes. Its baseball. Sometimes you have those never ending innings. If we win this weekend, it will be because we've learned from tonight and have moved on.
I know some comments are tongue in cheek, but some just need to take some time for themselves and relax.
I beg to differ. An inning like that 7th inning is unacceptable in little league, much less collegiate, D1 ball. I played ball my whole life and was never part of 4 consecutive gift wrapped runs. Hit batter, BB, whatever. When is the last time you saw something like that at any level? And the opponent we played doesn't help much..

Ok I'll definitely agree with that. That inning was a pathetic display by our staff, but baseball gives you plenty of opportunities to turn it around or get on track. Big picture is that we've had 1 terrible inning (and a pretty bad game) so far in the first midweek game. We have to improve but we don't need to blow it out of proportion.
If we start doing this regularly, then I'd be immensly embarrassed.
Doesn't this seem to happen every year in every sport? First chance we get it's time to sound the alarms.
Right and wrong at the same time. Because of our weak schedule, all games are important. We need as high of an RPI as possible based on our lack of ability to do well in the conference tournament.
And who cares who SLU threw tonight, bottom line is, they beat us....again.
Before we all jump off the cliff tonight, let's just wait till Sunday to "evaluate" our team. I'll feel much better after we win 2 this weekend against usm. U not gonna go from a mediocre team as we have been to a great team after 2 weekends of playing weaker talented teams. It's all a process and takes a little time. Alot of these kids have been a part of a average team for the past 2 yrs...they just don't know how to win and exspect to win every night out. It's gonna come. Let's be patient.

I just got back from the game. That was a pitiful showing against a good, but not overwhelming team. They out hit us and out pitched us. We looked like a single A high school team at the plate... and our pitchers gave away 12 bases. We hit 6 and walked 6. Not acceptable.
It is not the end of the season by any means, but this game was like too man of them from last year and 2008.
Can't have this over the coming weekend. But if we don't hit and pitch MUCH better, it could be ugly!
BTW... maybe Coach Robe can get Tyren Johnson to give the team a talk about "playing with heart"!
I am going to do it. I am going to use the old cliche, "That's baseball".
Yeah, pitching staff was not exactly good tonight. Going into tonight's game, the pitchers that pitched had been on the mound a total of 2 inning this season. I will contribute the "wildness" to mound rust. To be honest, that is the only stat that really sticks out in this game. Again, I might be fooling myself, but I contribute that to mound rust.
We are 7 games into a 56 game season and our team is 5-2. Tonight's loss was to a team that is now 9-0. Regardless of competition, they are 9-0. We might not be happy with the way our team is performing but we need to hold judgment for a few more weeks/months.
