You said all other men’s sports sucked, one would only assume you meant the present.

I took a long hiatus from RaginPagin and have been back for the past year. Let me just say the negative Nancy's have taken over here despite our athletic programs being in better position than when I left 10 years ago.

Perhaps we just no longer accept mediocrity here, which is great. I just don't think its all doom and gloom.

As a mid major we walk a fine line between success and mediocrity. Can't have much go wrong as baseball has proven. A couple poor recruiting classes have really set us back. The glass half full crowd says we have an amazing stadium, amazinng fan base, a head coach with a track record and a damn good pitching coach. Who here really thinks Robe won't get our pitching back on track? 2-3 dependable relievers and this team would have been a contender. We just had nothing to work with. Which is a complete anomaly for this program.
This is called blind faith. Nobody here has control, so that is the only course of action. I hope the coaching staff is proactive.

Pitching, long the pride of the baseball program is now a black hole of futility. Just being real.

That's the part I don't get. I know Tony doesn't recruit, but he is known as a pitching guy, yet we could count the number of legitimate D1 pitchers on our roster with half a hand this year. How does that even happen??

What is your solution Dad04? You have made your opinion on our failures very clear and I don’t disagree. Where do we go from here? Do you no longer have faith in coach Robichaux or just want a change in a certain assistant coach that recruits? Do you really want a complete overhaul? That is a scary proposition in my opinion.

Tony relies on others for talent evaluation.

Please look again. I said WHEN other men's sports sucked. We did not suck last year in football by any measure.

Last weekend, my brother-in-law informed me he will not be renewing his baseball season tickets next year. As long as I've known him, he's always had baseball season tickets. I tried to convince him otherwise, but it didn't work.

His question to me was, "Why do think next year will be any different?" Unfortunately, I did not have an answer to his question.

Gotcha, my bad. At least we have football going right. Rather depend on that than baseball, lol.

No biggie bro. We all confounded and confused. Glad I didn't work today because I would not have got a damn thing done. Yes, Napier and his recruits is a good reason to be optimistic. It's nice to see the concrete slab poured and the walls being built.

We hit rock bottom once under Robe and he made changes. Why the ____ are having to go through it again?

If things turn around like they did after 2012, are we going to do this same ____ again and hit rock bottom after a few good years?

Doesn't really matter what we think, or want. This is basically a .500 team, likely finishing in the middle 10% of RPI, 140 ish.

Head coaches don't get moved out for that. A change at the top will only happen with a complete collapse, sub .350 record, under 20 wins, maybe multiple seasons. The change has to be a complete no-brainer with huge upside potential for the AD, who did not hire Robe. Robe is not going anywhere until recruiting finally sinks the ship.

I just hope he fixes it. Doing the same thing every year hoping it fixes itself is not working very well. Maybe the next recruiting class will be better than the last four, but why would they?

All we need to do is replace 80% of the line-up and 80% of the pitching staff. No biggie. We could probably replace the pitching staff in a week, now that I think about it. I simply hope we are no worse next year. Anything better is gravy.

That's where I'm at. I got kids to put through school right now. Why should I be spending nearly $2,000 for a 3 month baseball season that ends before Memorial Day?
