Under any circumstances, looks like something that needs to be looked into and considered with all the facts.
Yes and I’m not saying it doesn’t need to be looked at but it takes 2 sides to renegotiate a contract and that usually involves both sides wanting something and both sides willing to concede something. Or you wait until the contract expires.

Winning cures the two car threads. If anyone has dealt with a fleet of vehicles, we’re getting a good deal. Pretty much the same deal most programs get.

The car show being at Cajun Field is a second deal. Do not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Zoom, we are not getting a good deal. It's why certain posters have been bringing this stuff up for 2 years. And there is more to it than that.

Can you share particulars on other collegiate athletic programs and their agreements with the car dealerships?

Agreed! But the baby is more expensive today than when this agreement was reached some 20 years, or so back. The cost of doing business has gone up, just like a number of dealerships that no longer participate in the coaches vehicle program because they don't see the value of it for them financially.

Dr. Maggard was smart to back off at this stage because the event was too close. The beginning of the fiscal year is the time to sit down and renegotiate this deal. These people built and operate businesses, they understand the term negotiation and Dr. Maggard is not a newbie to the concept as well. I don't see why a minimum $1500 RCAF donation per year from each dealership is not doable if the least offer is reasonable. Maybe the terms are higher with perks, I don't know. I know this, the current deal is not sufficient for UL at this time.

Maggard was wise to back off. Big Wheel Club and car show are two different items. In true RP fashion, line is blurred.

If it's blurred here, it's blurred elsewhere.

    This clears it up.

This is about as blurred RP has made anything.

I understand that, but an outdated agreement isn't a line blurred. Just financially not doable any longer.

It depends if the faculty vehicles are part of the agreement. If that goes away with the car show then I’d say we would be taking a hit financially.

Same could be said about the dealerships

Mickey Comboy and Mr. Adreian would tell us at least a quarter of all Acadiana's Dodge's sales were sold at the car show or at least started at the car show
