You guys just don't know how to take advantage of the situation. Here is the deal. You go early and negotiate your trade in. Pick out your new ride and then have them do the paperwork and detail the vehicle while your at the game. Afterwards you take your new ride home.

    Yeah I did that...... :-)

Those courtesy cars do factor in, though. Without them it would cost us about a quarter million per year.
Oh, and where did that number come from? Must have dropped out of thin air between last year's thread and today.

Looks like a pretty convenient number to throw out there. 🤔

Yeah, I just made that ____ up. It's what I do. I also drink and I know things.

You may not have made it up, however I suspect that maybe, somehow, somewhere from a dark dark place that your source may have.

Did we negotiate a %?or flat rate? When was it last negotiated? Was 12k a good amount when it was negotiated and LADA has since renegotiated with the dealerships increasing their take? How long is the contract?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

What I find fishy is that certainly someone that knows much of that information frequents this board - crickets - for two years now.

So we have 25 leased vehicles for staff and coaches @ $750/mo per vehicle?

Look at it this way...that 12k was negotiated years ago...12k is now worth 15k in today's $...

I think I’m looking at it very clearly, without all the details it’s hard to gauge anything. However, would it really surprise anyone that someone from the private sector out negotiated someone from a government entity? If we are still in that contract we don’t really have a leg to stand on unless they also want to renegotiate. Question is that is it worth giving up the staffs free vehicles for the amount we would gain on the car show? If it blows up in our face do we have a local dealership willing to provide us with the cars?

For every car sold the dealership has to buy a sesson ticket in football

While I kind of hate to wade into this pond..... I went to their website and when you click on the "community service" tab it states the following:

    Support your community

When you purchase your new car or truck from one of our dealers, you're not only supporting us, but you're also supporting your community. The Lafayette Auto Dealers Association provides funding and aid to many charitable organizations in the area. Check out our Facebook page for updates about our member dealerships.

You go to their facebook page and it says nothing regarding community service or charitable giving. I'm not saying it isn't happening but very poor public relations on their part.

The reality is that auto dealerships aren't the cash cow they once were. I've known people in the business and while it is better than it was a few years back it will never be what it once was. With that said I don't think the current situation is going to benefit either party. Might be time for a sit down around the camp fire and everyone have a little talk about things moving forward. And to the dealership association. If you are going to say you do community service by all means publish it!!
