In addition, we only have 7 seniors on the current club who won't be returning. I see 4 potential players who could be drafted (Lott obviously, Burk, Young, and Spears). Don't see all 4 being drafted, just being conservative. That's only 11 players leaving meaning an additional 12 to 16 guys would have to leave to accommodate the 23-27 new faces. 12 to 16 leaving would be busts on 34%-45%.

Seriously? Anyone who hears this and doesn't cringe is a homer deluxe. Absolutely hard to believe a head coach said this at any program. My thought is, you're kidding, right?

I think he's pre-quoting coach and Jay next season. That's actually a fair demonstration how coaches always seem to have a defect in the team. I mean almost zero teams return championship personnel top to bottom. So there's always some elements that these amazing coaches have to coral.

Well the comment was an exaggeration, but if you’ve heard the man speak for 20+ years like a lot of us have, you hear the same things over and over and over again. One of the common quotes is that we are a young team and that players have trouble adjusting to D1 baseball. We must be the only program that has those issues.

Here is a fun fact. 2017 UL team 11th in team ERA in the country. We were the only team in the top 28 nationally for team ERA, not to make a regional. How bad was the offense? 163rd on base %.

This was a giant red flag for anyone paying attention.

In 2018 we cratered at 286th, 11 from the bottom, in on base % before changing hitting coaches. It is concerning we need to sink to the bottom of the ocean before any thing is done to fix ____.

I doubt anyone here goes back any farther than do I..........

Next thing will be, well, it takes four years to learn our system. A lot of excuses in this program and always has been.

    This. This. This.

Why do we need to get a regional/super regional and then watch this program fall back to mediocrity every single time? There is no consistency in trying to stay near the top of D1 baseball. It’s a damn roller coaster ride with this program.

Going from a top 20 offensive team to bottom 5% in 4 seasons is ridiculous.

It makes one wonder, were you really that good at recruiting and coaching, or are you really this horrible? I honestly do not know the answer.

The same can be said for pitching. World class in 2017 to horrible in 2019.

Robe blames the draft on the pitching collapse. He never says the draft crushed the offense tho.

UL baseball is like a box a chocolates......we really need to get our recruiting ____ together eliminating these giant bipolar swings. Maybe this is the mid-major curse.

........So you go after the top notch kid and the 2s and 3rds know and take the offers on the table......well if you lose the #1 to another school or draft, your only choices are sometimes very poor in the talent pool......ironically, the ones you, lost but could have had are the kids that kick your _____ in the mid week games!
