Looks like we have the 2nd most wins in the NCAA and 4th best record, but 20th in rpi, that’s rough.

Can we honestly tell ourselves if we were in the SEC or Big 12 that we would have this same record? I think with what the team we have we are where we are supposed to be in RPI.

The record would be worse but our RPI would be a hell of a lot higher.

This team is very good but we lack that signature win.

Next year is a much better schedule and the team should be borderline unstoppable with Kleist and Summer

The record could be worse as you said but the RPI would still be higher.

Since you're playing with LA Cajuns hypotheticals... You could sub-in the best softball team that has ever existed anywhere, (keeping UL's locked in schedule) and their RPI would not be substantially better than Louisiana's.

Point being, RPI is a brain dead way of measuring quality.

Would take more than “a signature win”. Multiples more likely.

We don’t play any needle movers the rest of the year. We’re 20th, JMU is higher, they’ll be the token non P-5 regional host. Baton Rouge here we come. Ugh.

Team sheets tell the story. Who worth a flip have we’ve beaten? Nobody.

We’ll have a 1-2 combo pitching next year. Need a more challenging OOC schedule with wins.

But I do see that we have moved up to #8 in the rankings.

Maybe we should have scheduled James Madison on our trip to Appalachian State instead of Campbell and UNC-Greensboro.

Troy is right there and may break into the top 50 if they keep winning. If that happens then that's 3 more wins against a top 50 program. It would also help if we played them twice in the conference tournament.

But much better than any opinion method I've ever seen used by selection committee's.

Don't think we're going to BR this year.

Troy has the same issue the Cajuns have...except they have a single game at Florida State Wednesday. USA and Texas State are not needle movers. We all have to be Troy fans Wednesday.

FWIW, Troy has been run ruled by Alabama, South Carolina, State and three times by UL.
