I think that was the year we went to Tempe for a super. Arizona State must have been 2 or 3. Shut them out the first game and then lost back to back. To give you an idea of how good the Cal wins earlier this season would have been if it were 2012, they were the #1 overall seed that year.

We were #12 in the rpi at selection time with a measly 4-0 record against the rpi top 25. Of the teams that jumped us for seeding, they all had more wins against the rpi top 25. We also had the #44 non conference SOS. Dropping 2 spots for seeding wasn’t a bad decision.

What made Farmer suck was his comments after the bad seeding decision. Something about how he felt fine with the process and our spot. I’ve never heard another AD not lobbying for their teams for better seeding even after the decision.

UL had the nations #1 OOC RPI the year I was thinking of.

Meant nothing. Of course that's true, UL's seeding came out of committee below every previous indicator.

He had to step out of the room when UL was considered.

However, if you're not promoting your team "for better seeding even after the decision" you weren't selling your team even in casual conversation situations.

Selection committees are not sequestered jury.
