Thread: 3rd Assistant Coach Rule Fails to Pass

Default 3rd Assistant Coach Rule Fails to Pass

NCAA failed to pass the proposed rule expanding paid coaching staffs by one today. AD's didn't like it that the proposal changed from adding staff to converting a volunteer coach to paid. Why pay them when they work for free, I guess.

Weren’t we banking on this passing, so that Bab could move back into the dugout with Wells and JT? (Even tho he’s in the dugout during games anyway)

Pathetic that P5 programs sunk this proposal, mainly because they didn't want to spend the money and because the concern of having to do the same for softball.

or when the big boys have ways to pay them under the table.....see also director of operations, operations correinator, video coordinator, and yes shockingly enough even in some cases adminstrative assistant........p.s. has anyone wondered why the director of operations, usually has coaching in the resume, and/or they pursue coaching position after....why arent operations professionals getting these jobs? (another place to hide an extra coach)

but they would also big giving the big boys more power to pay even more folks even more, eventually enough to shut down small programs completely, then how would those futures look for next generation of youngsters.

whats next 40 scholarships? how many good players would then choose small programs? are we even sure they arent getting 40 now, does anyone ever see the checks the “walk ons” allegedly pay the skools for tuition since they arent on scholarship
