You are correct it was changed in 1999, I was wrong. So I guess this is why the baseball team made the CWS due to the name change! LOL

LOL, just goes to show how I do not care about the name change as I did not exactly know when it took place. Really, I thought it was in 2002 or 2003.

To me, being a member of a better conference then the Sunbelt is way more important than the name.

Judging by the physical attendance during this latest series win, the program's well documented issues are decreasing support.

I do not care what we are called. To me, the name has very little bearing on the success of the program. If you or others think different, well good, I do not really care.

....I’ll never forget signing a kid one day and admittedly the dad wasn’t too up on the total schools offering....he asked like others our school name and I had to go through the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette Louisiana....can’t imagine a staff member in any sport or academic recruiting not wanting to be UL.....why do you think other schools want to refer to us with the added Lafayette or ULL.....think duck!!!

Announced attendance over 4400 every game. Not bad. Wonder how many non attending season ticket holders will renew if things end like last year.

For example, lets look at UCF (University of central Florida) it sure has not hurt them. Keep thinking that the name has something do with wins and losses if you want to.

What about Coastal Carolina, Western Ky, Middle Tenn St as a few other examples. Believe what you want.

All of those are better than a city or a corner.

Well, the 50/50 dropped below $100.00. We could get that years ago at a well attended girl’s high school soccer game. Let that sink in regarding ACTUAL attendance. 🤦
