Let me know when our basketball or football programs are ranked #1 in the nation. If they get there under a coach I’ll overlook a couple less than stellar recruiting classes and give them the opportunity to remedy the situation.

All we proved to ourselves that year was rankings don’t mean squat. Obviously, we didn’t capitalize on that momentum.

I’m still hoping Robe can Wayne Graham this program.

Who put Deggs in that position? Who has consistently put together pitching staffs that keep us at a pretty high level year to year? My opinion but good pitching is harder to find at the college level and the best way for consistent success starts with pitching not offense. Am I wrong?

You have to hit in the college game. I think the deggs’ years showed us what we are actually capable of as a program. Pitching can only get you so far. Many times we’ve been in the winners bracket of a regional only to lose on Sunday. Everyone runs out of pitching in a regional weekend and if you can’t hit, you’re done.

Exactly...Deggs is so good he’s been in the Southland for 1/2 a decade...these same posters poking eyes out over Deggs, are the same ones declaring that Marlin is terrible bc he wasn’t poached within first 3-4 years of his tenure here...
