    Lucy Ashworth and Sophia Manibo each scored goals in the first 15 minutes of the opening half and Lamar added a third goal before intermission to claim a 5-1 victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team on Sunday in the final match of the Cardinal Classic on Sunday at the LU Soccer Complex.

    I really like soccer and hope that we can become a regional power. But we are really far from being even competitive.

    Sometimes some "un" coaching is needed before implementing there own system.

    So far we're 0-2 against Southland teams and have been outscored 8-1.

    Yes, give the coach/team some time, but ouch. That's pretty bad.

    Well in fairness to Southland teams, Lamar has been good the past two seasons. Made the NCAA tournament two years ago, looking at their schedule. Finished 18-4.

    But just the year before that, they sucked.

    Yeah this is going to take some time to correct. Hopefully we have a different tact on recruiting, which will require money. However we have consistently been outrecruited in our own backyard and there is no excuse for that.
