And what if I told you that loyalty may have played some part in why some coaches have been so quick to leave or why we hired a coach that had been out of the game for a handful of years coming off of the 2014 best season in program history and one of the best in college baseball, period.

His recruits started showing up here 2016 and RPI has dropped every year since. The 2016 freshman class had Nick Lee and Kasuls, but the rest have all been non-factors. The 2017 freshman class was even less effective with Spears the only player who has had an impact. The rest are gone. Freshman classes since he got here have been flops, with a few notable exceptions. That is something new. Our freshman have largely been successful until 2016.

We've had more success recently with juco kids, which given our success with freshman isn't really remarkable, but overall we are not good at recruiting right now. Based on recent past performance, I doubt anyone is holding their breath regarding any of our signees turning pro.

So watching the games, what are the results moving forward?

As of right now, one can only suppose that we will continue being a Jekyll and Hyde team for the foreseeable future.

    That is likely.

I’m not defending JT but anytime things don’t go right it’s “heads have to roll” anybody and everybody. Robe seems to think JT needs to be recruiting full time to do his thing, we will see. Robes loyalty may he his undoing here but it will be his choice. Personally I think we have a mentality issue more than physical skill issue. Tony has earned the right to fix it, he will or he won’t. A lot of bosses and ceos get fired everyday for failing to put the proper people under them. Knowing the type of man tony is does it really surprise people that he is loyal? And that he would consider these peoples families when making this decisions? That he is the type that would probably fall on the sword before blaming someone else? It’s who he is

And what are you basing that off of? Past performances..What some may call hindsight.

Everyone for the past few years have been calling for JT to get run off. You act like I am the only one and by the way I never did.

I work for a medium sized corporation that does not keep workers employed because they have a family. They employ you based on the your job performance. Going will be 20 years come SEP 1st.

Again, so who do you work for?

I’m one of those that thought JT should be let go, but I’m not the head coach at Louisiana, I don’t get fired if JT stays or goes. I didn’t say because he has a family, he is family. Robe treats them like family not employees who pinch a clock. I work for a company where my boss decides my fate, not guys on the internet. Particularly ones who say “I don’t know anything about what I’m talking about”

Look at the 2016, 2017 and 2018 rosters. The freshman on those teams were so bad I don't
remember seeing half of them on the field and almost all are gone. Not sure how much mentality is related, but they just couldn't play baseball. Below average recruiting is being generous. By the way, we cut kids who are stars at other schools. We suck at recruiting and development of players. That is just a fact.

JT is not recruiting full time. He coaches 1B at most games. Regardless of who is married to who, father of how many, the problem needs fixing.

Go check your definition of hindsight, bud.

2015-2016: "I hope his recruits pan out because this is not going in the right direction"
2017: "This is bad, really need to make a change"
2018: "Please for the love of God make a change"

and here we are in year 5 of a downward trend.

That is not hindsight. That is seeing the freight train coming and wondering why that person is still standing on the tracks.

Correct but all we hear from some on this site is he deserves time to fix this. Hell how much more time? He should of saw this coming just like most of the objective fans did!
