Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons

2015-2016: "I hope his recruits pan out because this is not going in the right direction"
2017: "This is bad, really need to make a change"
2018: "Please for the love of God make a change"

and here we are in year 5 of a downward trend.

That is not hindsight. That is seeing the freight train coming and wondering why that person is still standing on the tracks.

2015 was going down no matter what, if deggs stays we would have trended down and Yet the 2014 team only got 1 game farther and both regionals at home. 2016 we hosted a regional and got bounced by the CWS runner up. End of 2016...fire this guy? WTF would have done that? I’m not making some pitch to keep JT. I can look realistically at how we got here. This new setup will either work or it won’t. No amount of I told you so is gonna change where we are. Maybe JT “moves into the private sector” next year. We don’t know but ultimately it’s up to Tony and/or JT. If going to supers and hosting regionals is what people considered part of downward trends then I don't think you will ever be satisfied being a Cajun fan. 2014 was not a trend, it was an anomaly. We were 2 years removed from a losing season. 2015 and 2016 is the trend we are looking for. Make those years the trend and we will be making it back to Omaha.

Correct but all we hear from some on this site is he deserves time to fix this. Hell how much more time? He should of saw this coming just like most of the objective fans did!

The school could change head coaches. We have no influence over that decision. Before that is done they need to look at worst case, which means if you blow it up and the new guy takes over, what if he flops because we missed on the new hire?

Also, don't forget, if Robe is replaced, you will lose a bunch of season tickets bought by Robe fans, who may never come back.

From a practicality standpoint, and the reality Robe has done nothing to deserve replacing and won't be replaced anytime soon, the prudent move is to continue the rebuild, fixing the recruiting clown show. Those calling for Robe's job really show a lack of understanding for the realities of the situation.

I'll be honest and say I'm not 100% certain that I want him gone. I just know that things are going in the wrong direction and have a hard time understanding those that are defending him for the ____show we have right now.

And I couldn't be more disappointed seeing the best 4-5 pitchers ever to enter this program wasted. Especially when I watched a few of them grow up hoping that they would stay home and play here. (clarifying - 4-5 collectively, not 4-5 individually best)

I think he is about $600,000 this year and Szefc make more than him in the ACC. The Deggs boat sailed long ago. Robe help fix Deggs, for which he deserves a ton of credit.

We had arguably the best pitching rotation this program has seen along with a dominant closer and we ____ the bed in 2017 and 2018. And now with a lackluster pitching rotation and a suspect bullpen, we are going to ____ the bed in 2019.

Yes agreed, 2017,2018 and 2019 is the downward trend. Regardless of how we did it or what it looked like 2015-2016 were very successful seasons. Good teams find a way to get it done and those teams found a way. A lot of teams stuff the stat sheet and are sitting at home for Memorial Day.

You can defend tony as a baseball coach and not be defending him for what we are seeing right now. That’s what 25 years will get someone, benefit of the doubt to fix it. That does not last forever but i don’t think he has ran out of it yet either.

There is so much possible downside replacing a coach for a decline to .500, I think the risk is too great.

If a move is made, they have to hire the next Glasco, or the next Deggs. They simply cannot miss. AD's have lose jobs replacing coaches with flops.

Our 2017 pitching staff had the 7th ranked team WHIP and the 11th ranked team ERA in D1, yet we sat home in June. That is sad.

Not even close to comparable situations. You better hire the next freaking Tony LaRussa, or you are toast. There simply is not enough upside for that deal to happen anytime soon, if ever.
