Man, a few years back when this slide started, someone posted "In Robe We Trust". I'm still pulling for Robe to mirror Wayne Graham with Rice, but with a more graceful exit. Right the ship and be a national power for a stretch, not make a big national splash every 14-15 years.

Cool, Robe has another 26 years to figure out his graceful exit haha

I’m with you. Last couple years have been disappointing and frustrating, but I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves either.

is it possible that the moral of the story is that the sunbelt is better than given credit for. after all a so called poor cajuns team did better against texas than the alleged number one team in the land did.

No the Texas series isn’t a sign of anything.

You don't build your reputation on a small sample good or bad. In a vacuum the Texas series was somewhat hopeful. At the end of the day we're pretty bad to some good and bad teams.

Nope. One top 50 RPI team. One bid league this year unless Coastal gets upset and even then maybe only one with the way Coastal is trending.

There are 3 teams in the top 60 RPI. The Cajuns have played none of those teams yet.

After this series, the next 11 games are against teams that are 8 to 13 games over .500 and 8 of those games are away from Russo. All of those teams are in the top 70 of the rpi right now.

This alone should be the wake up call for the entire league.

Basketball went thru the same exact thing with the beaten like a dead horse topic ESPN/Big East explosion. We got left behind.

Baseball is there right now. SEC dumped millions into infrastructure and wants their ROI now. The difference between baseball and basketball is ESPN/SEC network is already in place.

SBC needs to recognize this and strengthen quickly or its over. Two or three one bid years in a row, SBC baseball becomes irrelevant.

Sorry, no sunshine pumping on this one.
