Nobody doubts the team's commitment. Robe will fix it and no message board is getting him fired. I will let you know when to panic.

Emotions after a Tech or McNeese loss are magnified for some reason.

It's like we work with some of their alumni and have to hear crap for weeks

So based on your post, if I say a coaching change should not be made and Tony will fix things just have total faith in him then that would help turnaround things?? Cannot wait for us to come back and beat a mighty cowboys team tonight based on what I just posted! Hell we may even make a run now to host a regional now! All rainbows and sunshine!

Life time contract for Tony.....Wow that was easy!

If you notice Maggard never refers to us as donors but investors and fans should treat it as an investment

You gotta be sincere for that to work.

At this point last year (a year in which we got off slow again), we were 18-17. What's changed? We can hit the ball, but now can't pitch. What's going to be the reason for a slow start in 2020? Because nothing I see at the games makes me think we'll be better off in 2020.
We are not a team that can handle 5-game weeks right now. Our pitching staff does not have the depth needed. Many would call me crazy but I think per the norm coach Robe has actually done a great job in getting us what is shaping up to be a decent weekend rotation of arms, which was one of the biggest question marks coming into the season. This will at least keep us competitive on the weekends for conference despite our lack of depth.

My biggest concern going forward is offense as that is where we have traditionally relied on a good hitting coach, which all signs are pointing up and positive on Wells. We know as long as Robe is around that he will get the max out of a pitching staff, so I have zero worries on that front for the future.

Sounds weird but 35 games is still a small sample size in baseball especially when you are trying to rebuild or find consistency with unproven inexperienced players. We have some very good pieces on this team, hopefully we can up our recruiting for the upcoming seasons to match our high expectations. That is the only way we can win consistently year to year. We have to bring in more recruits that have shortened learning curves.

I understand this is a different game on the collegiate level but one of last years world series participants had a worse record than us after 35 games (15-20). Yes I know we don’t have the benefit of 162 game seasons like the LA Dodgers and maybe a stupid comparison but just showing an example of the time it takes for the pieces to fall into place. Don’t forget some in this forum wanted to bench Cantrelle after 15 games, lol. We all knew coming into the season the situation with our pitching staff. I think many just want this program to be at a point where recruiting talent can overcome injuries and inexperience. That has been the biggest let down for many after tasting that number 1 ranking and getting the beautiful stadium. That is a valid expectation and one of the most disappointing results of the last few seasons, but we can’t go back can we, only forward.

As for your statement about what to look forward to, this is our FLOOR (an average inconsistent team). Our hitting is looking better and coach Robe WILL get the pitching turned around in the coming seasons like always. These are the growing pains this staff has to go through on the mound with the inexperience we have. It sucks, but it is what it is. Hopefully we can bring in more talent and a few of our young arms blossom.

To answer this threads question at what point....when the pressure that the staff is currently feeling does not result in a turn around. I’m pretty confident this coaching staff is not happy about the past 2 1/2 years results and is working hard to remedy the situation. I’d say if they don’t turn it around in the same time frame, another couple years then that would be your at what point. Just my opinion. As some have mentioned we won’t appreciate what we have until its gone, not the cool thing to say around here but we are lucky Robe has been loyal to our program and built what we have. He has raised the expectations when I’m sure he could have gone to bigger pastures. I think he deserves the fans loyalty during the .500 ball down years. Doesn’t mean we have to be happy and accept mediocrity just means we still believe in a coach that has given us a 3rd place college world series finish and a number 1 in season ranking more recently.

The lack of grit, toughness aka Throwdown does worry me. Perhaps its the lack of dirt on the field or maybe those damn baserunning mittens?????? Or simply a product of this generation of millenials???

Sorry for the essay...just don’t have time to post too much, so one big post is what you get!

A few other things....Losing to these in state schools really blows, but at the end of the day midweek games are midweek games when you are not playing for an at large. Win or lose next week against State A&M it all comes down to the same 4 days in May at this point, but damn I hate losing to these schools, especially at home.

After getting a taste of the chairback premium seats due to our lack of fans at last weekends doubleheader I’m sensing a great buying opportunity as some may jump ship and lose patience. Buy low!!!! Chairbacks may be in this blind man’s future...a seat where my family and I can actually see a ball or a strike instead of pretending like we could tell from 200 feet away just to hassle the umpire.

Never let a good disaster go to waste.

    Geaux Cajuns!

A brand new stadium, which was advertised nationally during the last Regional we hosted, as taking his program into the next step, has been built.

Since then, we’re potentionally looking at three straight years of missing the NCAA tournament for baseball, and we’re getting blown out by LA Tech in our glorious stadium.

Where is the pride and fight? Where is the accountability?

Yes, Robe has built a model. He has done great things for our baseball program that should never be forgotten. But Florida State knew Bobby Bowden’s time was up and brought in Jimbo Fischer. At what point do we realize this with Coach Robe and bring in someone like Deggs to take over the program?
Runner, I will tell you what they told us after Coach Lancon died and Track fell off a cliff: "It's only baseball. Except for a few diehards, it doesn't matter."
In the grand scheme of things, baseball doesn't move the needle much more than track or volleyball, so if it isn't an unmitigated disaster it won't get fixed.

True, but I would think with the recent national attention and the investment in the facilities, along with fan support, it would mean a bit more??

    Maybe I’m wrong.

As far as conference placement and national exposure anything outside of Football , Basketball and WBB really means nothing. As far as regionally baseball and softball drums up fan support and exposure
