Which is exactly why they sent him to Hawaii for two weeks. But you don't know 18, or who he is. Did you ever think they might appreciate him when they are done? Nobody likes their coach while they are on the team. Everybody knows that who played anything, except you, I guess.

That is a reputation that is publicly known. Oh, with the little knowledge of anything UL baseball you have demonstrated to have, I understand that you would not be in the part of the public who would have that knowledge.

With every team there are players that like or disliked their coach. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

I have a similar experience as you and Dad. I know many former players that love the guy and some (not many) that don't care for him. I wouldn't say they "can't stand him." But who don't have the same appreciation for him that many of the other former players have. And some of the ones that don't care for Robe were starters so the whole "he didn't play me" thing does not apply, and they are adults now. But you can't please everyone when you are a leader.

So apparently you are an insider when it comes to the baseball team.

    Give us some scoop!

If you have not been told before, you are some kind of special.

It's pretty obvious when you know who Dad is and look at their conversation on here.

I’d say if you know 10 that can’t stand them, then those 10 are bitter people, need to re evaluate your network. True, some guys butt heads while they are in college. But 99 percent of guys leave and when they get in the real world appreciate the lessons learned under Robe. We all have a respect and love for the man who prepares all his players for the tough times in life- which extend way after the playing career. The other 1 percent are the bitter guys that you know. The underwhelming minority who “can’t stand” him. These are typically the lazy players who were problems on their teams anyhow. You can have all them. We don’t need em.

10 is far less than 1% but a large sample size for one not in the program to be familiar with.

Perhaps. Couple were everyday starters in 2014. Seem to remember that team being pretty good. It is what it is. I probably shouldn't have brought that up, as I don't personally know the kind of man Robe is. I can only go by what I hear from people who do know him.

I don't know a single former player that can't stand him but I know several who are dumbfounded with the product on the field in recent years. Meaning, they aren't saying "Robe will turn it around". It's more "I don't know what is going on because this is not how it was."
