1-3 against 150+ RPI teams. Sweet Sassy Molassy.

Pulled up the Nitty Gritty from 2018 after 33 games.

    2018: 4-7 vs top 50; 8-11 vs top 100; #56 overall SOS (#20 OOC SOS); #89 in RPI
    2019: 3-8 vs top 50; 8-12 vs top 100; #57 overall SOS (#17 OOC SOS); #98 in RPI

Nearly identical records. We at least had a 4-2 record vs teams over 150 at this point last year.

If this were a normal year for injuries with Gunner healthy, our record would be around 23-11 and an RPI around 60 with everybody looking at Regional projections right now.

As it stands now, if our starting rotation continues to solidify, and the bats continue to perform, we have just as good a chance as anybody else to win the SBC tourney.

If, just if nobody ever got hurt or turned pro ever, we would be undefeated every year.

More Gunner nonsense. I am done explaining the lame Gunner excuse.

Do you mean if we would not of gotten off to a terrible start for the second year in a row? Early in the season we only had 1-2 guys out at different times. And only one was a hitter. Missed 2 games in the first month. The first 15 games were a disaster because they were not ready to play for whatever reason...and that’s the second year in a row. Injuries had nothing to do with a slow start in my opinion. They have got to get that figured out. We can’t keep playing for the “second half” of the season.

Dont forget missed 700 at bats preseason last year due to construction, cajunnation. Probably a lingering effect. But forget the fact we started the season 1-7 with a healthy roster.

If we were as good at playing baseball, as excusing bad baseball, we wouldnt need excuses.

Is that an excuse I see here?

Not excusing bad baseball. Just recognizing progress when I see it and pointing out how close we are to most people here having a very different outlook on the season. Gunner's injury alone has probably cost us at least 3 or 4 games.

I said it weeks ago. The errors would take care of themselves and the bats would come around. They have, and now, the pitching is stabilizing. We've won 5 of the last 6. The guys are making a run.

Put on your rally cap and join us.

If this were a normal year, Gunner wouldn't be here.
