Johnson becomes a part of some select company, joining Dwight "Bo" Lamar, Andrew Toney and Michael Allen as the only Ragin' Cajuns to ever be named a conference's Player of the Year since the program joined the NCAA Division I ranks.

What a great feat, congratulations Tyren!
Side note: If "joined" is the right word . . . then UL "joined" D1 the same day as UCLA, Notre Dame, Michigan and Texas and every other University Division member.
