.......I think that A State put on as good of a bunting demo last night that I have seen in a long time....bunt placement was so good that sacrifices were legit base hits.....seems like we never get guys to move up to score on base hits.....I dont know the stats on it but get a runner on first, sac him to second and now no double play to clear bases.....now you have 2 outs to score a run.....also I wonder if the stats bear out our getting multiple hits per inning which are needed for nonscoring position runners to put runs up!
Their bunting might have not been as successful if the pitcher, catcher and 3B knew their jobs in that situation. Weak defense made it look better than it was. It looked like little league with everybody running after the ball, getting in each others' way.
....I always want to learn the game....Think the catcher called the base to throw to since he was facing the bases.....thought the fielding assignments were based on area of the ball with preference to the 3rd baseman as the ball rolls into his area and the natural throwing motion! Help!
One game they look like bottom 25. Next game top 25.
I never felt like we had a game locked up. Well 14/5 with two outs felt safe.
Looks like we're top 100 RPI now, so there's that
