He said 5 years ago this wasn't the case, but today, the owners of The Advocate understand the importance and relevance of UL and Lafayette (Acadiana) and are on board with promoting the second largest university in the state. (Not to mention when we achieve Doc I status in the near future.) We are going to see headers in BR, Acadiana and in NO that say Louisiana or Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and the articles will be using Louisiana as our reference as well as UL. No more UL-Lafayette. This was all agreed to and should have been implemented from day one. But, the guy in charge of implementation at The Advocate resisted as an LSU guy, and management is getting this corrected. And, Learfield is pushing our Louisiana branding initiative within its client base that includes many prominent universities around the country as well as several state-wide schools in Louisiana and, of course, the national media.

What a dynamic guy Brian Bille is as a UL alum, a long time resident of Lafayette, and a former Advertiser employee. Great things are happening at UL and our marketing is in great hands. I am so pumped after talking to him.
A big ✔️, when they get it right. I cancelled my advertiser subscription when foot left. I may get an Advocate one when this is implemented correctly.

As I told you, this deal is good for us in the long run. I did not have all the details to pass on, but clearly people were upset for nothing. This is why the RCAF meetings are important, so that information will be given first hand and questions can be asked instead of incomplete news media releases, with little to no information. Thanks for passing this on.

The news you provided regarding the SEC Network is definitely worth getting upset over. Everything else I'm reading is fantastic news!

Yeah, the SEC thing sucks, but we are winning on the issue by so far a margin that I can live with it. Besides, the more lsu uses something else other what our name is and what people would come more and more to know of as, the more ridiculous, petty and insecure they will look. And the same will be even more true for all the other little in-state schools that do the same.

It's been a long wait, but victory sure is a sweet thing.

We don’t need Advocate cheer cards, we need them to get our name right. If that was a material part of our bargain, they have failed to honor the bargain so far. Glad to hear that our proper name usage was in fact part of our bargain and look forward to reading Louisiana, UL and Ragin Cagins in all that they print and publish on line, henceforth.

It is, but there is nothing we can do legally, or through the legislature. In the end, getting upset over it gains nothing for us in the big picture.

Do you know what we will be referred to as? Ragin' Cajuns or Louisiana-Lafayette/ULL?

Is the game vs Miss State an SEC televised game? I thought we were putting this on as the host team with the SuperDome. If so, we should be able to get the SuperDome to call us Louisiana, we will be about 5 months into our branding of Louisiana in New Orleans with the Advocate, and hopefully we can control the graphics. Miss State can call us what they want to l, but if things are as I stated, it won't matt what they call us. If it is an SEC game and they control the graphics, we are screwed. Maybe it is time we quit playing SEC teams and play other P5 conferences. Should still get great paydays.

Listed as UL Ragin Cajuns on Acadiana edition drop down sports...no changes elsewhere, must be a work in progress or the IT in charge at Advocate left...

I have no idea but I only imagine that it is on the SEC Network.

Yes, still no corrections as of today. I wonder if Brian Brille gave a timeline of when this would be done?
