I don't know if I would say that Nunez was not very good. We needed better, but Nunez was more than sufficient.

I liked his moxy and yes he made some mistakes, but not very good would be an overstatement.

The guy completed 63.41% of his passes, with 20 TD's. The 12 INT's were a little high, he also threw for 2272 yards, which was 162.29 yards per game.

Not saying either was terrible but neither were very good either both missed a ton of throws.

Our limitations were stretching the field anything over 15 yards out was a 50/50 jump ball .

We should not at this time saddle this years QB with last year’s performance.

I was commenting on someone saying Lewis was just as good as Nunez last year like we should be excited about it.

But nothing that happened last year or this spring will matter come August.

When it comes to QB there is a huge difference between good and sufficient. All you have to do is look at the NFL QBs to realize there are alot of sufficient QBs but very few good ones. Heck look at our QBs over the last 10 years and you can see it pretty clearly.

There is also a huge difference between sufficient and not very good. An in college that separation is even bigger.

Both terms are subjective. IMO not very good means he’s likely to hurt you in important moments. Same thing for sufficient.

IMO Lewis has the physical skills to be a good QB. I’m seeing a guy in game real time slow to recognize opportunities that are available almost every time. That’s to a degree coach-able. If you don’t have the physical tools ⚒ 🛠 🧰 your upside is very limited.

His increased reps point is valid.

Most players seem to progress at a different level when they are the man.

When your reaction time is 2 seconds too slow no amount of reps will help

I saw zero difference from his start at USA 2 years ago vs his time playing in the bowl

Kid is an all world practice player when the lights come on he looks like a deer in head lights
