Abbeville - Police Jury pushes back property tax election

As a way to save around $30,000, the Vermilion Parish Police Jury pushed back the May 1 election to October 2, 2010.
At the beginning of February, the Police Jury unanimously approved calling a special election on May 1 to have residents approve a bond sale and a property tax to help battle coastal flooding that has hampered the parish for the last five years.
