The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, held annually since 1953 and opening this year on April 17, is a four-day event composed of eight teams, each with eight players, playing three games.

It is restricted to 64 college seniors — typically ones not invited to the NBA’s annual pre-draft camp — and regularly draws hundreds of scouts from the NBA, Europe and other pro leagues.

The Portsmouth Invitational is the first of two NBA pre-draft camps, the other being the Orlando pre-draft camp."

2 minutes left, down by 2. Horrific guard play from SSL. One alley oop pass went over top of backboard. Gant not in, looked good when he was in, steal, 4 points and a three boards when I watched.

Va Tech guard hits 3 at buzzer, Gant's team moves on in winner's bracket, April 19th, 6PM. Gant in game at crunch time.

JG started first two games. Team won in OT in semis, lost in finals.

JG was a brutal 2-10 (semis) and 1/5 (finals) from the field. Least minutes in finals for his team. ZERO blocks for the tournament, which is surprising.


Think everyone in this tournament was pushing their limits. 3 pt airball was a common shot across the board.
