JG was a brutal 2-10 (semis) and 1/5 (finals) from the field. Least minutes in finals for his team. ZERO blocks for the tournament, which is surprising.


Think everyone in this tournament was pushing their limits. 3 pt airball was a common shot across the board.

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball alum JaKeenan Gant took another step towards the National Basketball Association on Friday when he inked a free-agent deal with the Indiana Pacers.

Gant, who played at Louisiana from 2017-19, earned a slew of honors during his Ragin' Cajuns career that included being a two-time Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year, plus the Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team and named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List.

The Springfield, Ga., native participated in the Portsmouth Invitational in April and worked out for seven NBA teams before signing with the Pacers, who finished 48-34 last season and was the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

During the 2018-19 season, Gant averaged 20.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots per game while leading Louisiana to a 19-win season. Gant ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring, second in field goal percentage and finished as the SBC leader in rebounds, blocked shots and double-doubles (13).

Gant finished the 2018-19 season as the only Division I player to average 20 points, eight rebounds and 2.6 blocks on the season. He scored in double figures in 27 games with 15 games of 20-plus points, including a career-high 45 points against Little Rock on Jan. 3, tying Dwight "Bo" Lamar for the 11th-best scoring performance in school history.
