Not sure what is classified as poor hitting, but we hit .300 or over every year he was here, except his first season in 2003 (.277) and the last year he was here 2008, after Lucroy left (.248).
We hit .300 or better four of the six seasons he was here. In the 11 seasons, counting this year, since he left we hit over .300 just two seasons. Any guesses which two years those were and who the hitting coach was? Class?
Ok Jay. Let's say we go 21-7 again in the 2nd half of the season to end the season 33-23. Will we still be on the outside looking in again? Yep. It's all about those 3-4 games in May for this program now.
But a finish like that again, all that does is give Maggard a pass to let Robe continue. And then we'll have another start like this in 2020 because we'll be young to start the 2020 season. And we'll be right back here again for the 4th straight year.
I don't see 21-7 coming from this team. Goodness gracious.
We just went 4-5 against teams with a combined record 34-47 (29-43 when you take out games against us). What makes you think we're going to get wins against stAte, Coastal, South Alabama, UTA, and Texas State?
So apparently, people who say that injuries are an excuse just want to be mad.
Yeah, that’s what it is. We enjoy being miserable and losing just for the fun of it. LOL.
The fact of that matter is that even with the current injuries, we still struggled before it all began. We were 1-7 before the injuries.
Again, I will never quit on this team. Ever. But let’s face the facts. We have underachieved with or without injuries.
And on the flip side, it’s just as inappropriate to use injuries as justification to cast a shadow over the fact that the team was just average to begin with before the injury occurred. See: Men’s Basketball.
He just said batting and fielding was better than last year than blamed the losses on injuries to our batting and fielding
We still have 2 against SLU, 1 against LSU, 3 at Coastal, and 3 at home against stAte. We could lose 7 just out of those 9.
Not speaking about Robe being fired, but I highly doubt there will be any serious evaluation of this program at year end. Just chalk it up to bad luck and pretend nothing’s wrong.
