The second half of the 2019 Ragin' Cajuns baseball season began yesterday with a 4-3 win over Troy.
A season of promise has been sabotaged by injuries, but there's nothing that can be done about that.
First two lines of Jay’s article today. Boy I hope we turn this around because the excuse train is gonna be nauseating if we don’t.
Not sure what is classified as poor hitting, but we hit .300 or over every year he was here, except his first season in 2003 (.277) and the last year he was here 2008, after Lucroy left (.248).
We hit .300 or better four of the six seasons he was here. In the 11 seasons, counting this year, since he left we hit over .300 just two seasons. Any guesses which two years those were and who the hitting coach was? Class?
Ok Jay. Let's say we go 21-7 again in the 2nd half of the season to end the season 33-23. Will we still be on the outside looking in again? Yep. It's all about those 3-4 games in May for this program now.
But a finish like that again, all that does is give Maggard a pass to let Robe continue. And then we'll have another start like this in 2020 because we'll be young to start the 2020 season. And we'll be right back here again for the 4th straight year.
I don't see 21-7 coming from this team. Goodness gracious.
