Thread: Can someone splain me what happened to our once-poud baseball program?

The injury bug doesn’t help the baseball team’s cause, but I also don’t think it’s the main cause of what’s going on right now. When we blew two huge leads against Sam Houston, we didn’t have a plethora of injuries. Our 1-7 start wasn’t due to injuries either. I think learning a new hitting philosophy (which is slowly showing improvement), our slow start defensively, and a lack of talent in some areas have contributed to this first half struggle. And sure, I think anyone would much rather be healthier than we are now.

Hopefully, we can see some improvement in the second half.

I'll ask again, who on this roster would have earned playing time on the 2014 team?

No injuries probably lead to a streak at some point to have as at an average baseball team, possibly finish .500 or slight winning record. Injuries could have us come in right around the 17-20 win range.

To the OP. Don’t worry about reading the other threads as someone suggested. According to RP this is the problem. When we get rid of Marlin and Jay and shut down the Corner Bar all will be good

That was a special team. I don't expect every Cajun baseball team to match that one, but nor do I expect to see the kind of falloff and other problems we've experienced since. Injuries? I'd imagine other squads see an injury or two each year.

Just one. Name one player on this team. I can maybe buy Cantrelle playing out of position and Gunner was on that team so I exclude him. We don't have a single player on this team that could have broken into that lineup. 80% of the current coaching staff has led this team from the top of the entire nation to the bottom of the barrel in the sunbelt in just 4 years.

    Gunner, Cantrelle, and maybe LaHare

Update: I’ve seen you answer the same time I did. In that case, maybe LaHare only due his attitude.

You can’t compare any Robe coached team to the ‘14 team. Even his CWS team probably wasn’t as talented as the ‘14 team.

We have not met expectations in baseball period. We should be in a Regional every single year. Expecting to make a Super at least every 2 out of 5 years. These are the standards that Robe has set since being the HC here. So when we fail to meet those expectations then criticism is 100% fair and warranted.

He has under achieved lately, no question about it!

I knew you'd like that. At least you'll have your pick of the litter on season tickets next year.

    Not one single soul.

I think I covered almost every body.
Other than Gunner, can we see the stats of "the injured" prior to the injuries this season ? Asking for a friend.
