This thread is absurd.
Marlin has some of his key starters coming back for next year, and one hell of a recruiting class. Firing him now would be dumb, as we’d be hitting reset on the building momentum for next season.
Incorrect. He took the first two courses in the Fall of '03. However there was no wrong doing on the part of either coach and they are not even mentioned in the NCAA report. It all went back to the compliance coordinator. We got nailed pretty hard on that one and the enforcement committee even used the word "dismayed" to describe how bad it was. Not only did we vacate a bunch of wins and have to remove any mention of our NCAA tournament apperance we also lost the revenue from that apperance. See below for the full report.

this is the problem we and ( Dr. Maggard) faces. Marlins 9 year track record at Louisiana warrants him being let go, point blank. but in the 2 years Dr. Maggard has been here, Marlin has most likely recruited his 2 best recruiting classes and has won a conference reg season championship. next years team on paper should be the deepest team coach has had, ,talent wise including several high level recruits, including 2 top in-state talents. i would predict Dr. Maggard eats this years results and give one final chance for coach Marlin next year before making a move.
