Ron Hunter to Tulane!

If Bobby Big Fish had a history of his teams struggling during the regular season but then almost always seemingly finding a way to win the conference tournament and then head off the the NCAA where they made some noise, I could consider that a success. Has it happened? Of course not.

Nope, the only consistency we've had is being mediocre.

Over the years we've put, supposedly, a lot more emphasis and resources into our athletic programs with facility construction or enhancements, much higher coaching pay and resources etc. to bring a better product to the stage but we really aren't doing that. Again, I don't see people wanting to bash Marlin but to many, there is a distinct lack of return from the money we are asked to donate and pay.

I’d be hard pressed to believe people around here enjoy just bashing a coach while enjoying defeat at the same time. At least I would hope not because I don’t want us to have fans like that. Plus, losing is never fun.

What I see are people showing disappointment for a lower return on what’s being invested. Have we had recent winning seasons? Absolutely. But what we should be asking ourselves is simple: Do these seasons compliment our full expectations? And can it get better? I guess we will see starting next year.

Yeah, I'm also curious to what they're paying him. I had heard $1 million per season which would be a large increase over what GA State was paying him.

The GPA issue is a legitimate reason why GA State had not already extended him. Sounds like it was a good time for him to move on either way.

I can't wait to watch this play out. Obviously, STUDENT-athletes are not on Ron's radar. And the fallout is yet to hit GAST with grades for this year.

And that little breach of contract issue where RH didn't notify GAST he was talking with another program about a job.

Just proves Hunter is exactly the type of individual we though he was.

I don't blame Georgia St. for being concerned about a coach who's gpa is sliding downward and is unwilling to tie some bonus money to gpa. I mean they weren't talking base salary here.
