Didn’t Minnesota not host 2 years ago and they were like 55-3 or something crazy

For three late innings, only a single away from a win. not one of the girls could hit it to the outfield. Grounder to first, second and short stop with runners on second and third and one out. Had the chance but couldn't do it........

Telling the girls they have to run the table is a little unusual for a coach. Most stress, one game at a time.

Yes, but we likely go to BR where we have to beat the Tigers, the umpire, and the political machine to advance. I’m all for a “We are the Titans, leave no doubt” outcome, but that’s tough to do.

I cringed when I heard it. That puts a lot on Ellyson in particular.

Yes. They then got sent to the 16th seeded teams site....... Alabama.

While RPI does in effect take into account SOS I believe the committee felt in this instance that it was a little out of whack. Their SOS at selection time was around 113 which was way out of line with the other top RPI teams at the time. James Madison also got snubbed that year. Instead Kentucky and Ole Miss took the host spots. Ole Miss was definitely a head scratcher.

A note I found from the selection committee....

A day or two after the seedings were released, the NCAA Selection Committee released a statement to explain why the nation’s top-ranked club did not merit one of 16 seeded spots. “When the committee compared Minnesota against other teams being considered for the top 16 seeds, Minnesota did not have as many regular-season Top 10 and Top 25 wins as compared to other teams,” the statement read in part. “The teams that were selected as the 16 seeds had at least one or more Top 10 wins and between four to 18 Top 25 wins. Minnesota did not have any Top 10 wins and only two Top 25 wins.

“Furthermore, Minnesota’s strength of schedule was 114,” the statement said. “The top seeded teams had strength of schedules ranging from 1 to 36.”

For reference our SOS is currently 90.

True. I think part of it is him wanting to be real with the girls, though. And the way I’m reading a couple of his quotes this morning, I think he’s almost admitting that he has contributed to the stress.

Agreed, a very poorly played game against a weaker opponent. I also wish Glasco would trust the other pitchers and not go with Summer every game, especially when she didn't have her best stuff like last night.

He better find one, or keep letting Boswell pitch as she has done well. One pitcher won't get him out of a good regional.
