I’ve watched for 25 years, it’s obvious. Nobody makes a regional from practice. clearly you have some bias to Hayden. Never called for the kid to be benched permanently like others have been in the past who performed way better or were given way less chances. At the time almost the whole team stunk and everybody who stunk took a turn watching, except one. Either way moot point he finally stopped sucking az and started playing baseball after a 1/3 of the season

Bottom line, .300 hitters are not sitting on the bench. Hitting .220 on this team gets you adequate playing time to show what you have. We currently have no 1B or 3B who can hit, a DH who can’t hit a HR and our corner OF are injured where we are now playing guys who would ride the bench on almost every NCAA tournament team. Cantrelle is the least of our problems and his playing every game has not hurt this team.

What exactly has Cantrelle done? And it wasn't an outing. It was several and people were really patient with him not hitting for half the damn season last year because he was making up for it at SS. This year he wasn't hitting AND booting balls, that's what brought up the discussion, don't compare him to gunner leger until he puts a skin on the wall much less the skins gunner has hanging. I was for giving someone else a shot, it wasnt Lockeridge though

No it was to see if dupuy can play and let Hayden take a step back for a game. Apparently he is so high on the pedestal that’s just an outrageous thing to even suggest.

So Monica and Breaux have started every game also. Lott has played in every game. Kasuls has started every game he wasn't injured for. Not sure why Cantrelle is getting the brunt of this discussion. I don't agree with ALOT of stuff Robe does, but he can't be THAT wrong about Cantrelle. I mean, he did get a call about getting drafted in the 4th or 5th round, but he told them he wouldn't sign for what they offered (I heard that somewhere, can't confirm 100%, but a good source). I HATE the way Cantrelle plays like he's bigger than the game, but he is more than likely the best option we have at shortstop.

Because he's not a shortstop. Was just the best fielder on his team in high school. Hands aren't that great and neither are his feet. He's a 3B/1B guy. MAYBE 2B. Doesn't have enough range for SS.

Lott has not started every game,I thought Monica did sit a couple, if he didn’t hebshould have. Breaux and kasuls are the only 2 guys who consistently resembled a hitter for the first 1/3 of the season. They actually put the bat on the ball. The kid was struggling bad, probably between his ears mostly, having him watch a midweek isn’t putting him on the pine and moving on. It’s a game and you want to see if you missed on dupuy. Hey let’s go into next year having no idea what he can do, that sounds better. Heaven forbid Cantrelle get hurt. It’s not like we are in the hunt for an at large. Doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. For the fourth time it’s moot because he started playing ball, unlike when this conversation was brought up 3 weeks ago.
