But not of the turf behind the plate. No one has had a problem with Ragin' Cajuns on the backstop in the view from behind the pitcher until now. That is the view for every single pitch of every single game. Some people are holding a grudge against YG and that is what this is about.
The effort to kill Lady Cajuns branding began in earnest when Yvette left.
This is just silly. Im sure the camera behind home plate will show all of the backstop. Im sure the two side view angles will show a great view of the backstop. That’s three out of four camera shots that result in a fail if we miss out on putting Louisiana behind the plate. Go fkg figure.
I challenge you to find fields where the naming of the field on behalf of a person is shown on the turf behind the plate.
I have no problem with the field naming, however, if she continues to avoid our branding efforts, it will be found too be a huge mistake. She has the opportunity to atone for the honor bestowed upon her. Just do it.
I'm talking about the people _____ing about her name behind the plate on the turf. I just watched the intro and top half of 1st from Friday. Not once did any view show the turf. All camera angles were used in that half inning. The only time you could see it was if you knew what you were looking for when the third out was made and they showed the catcher running off after the K. Anyone screaming branding about this has ulterior motive.
You said that 95% of frames on TV have home plate as a reason we need LOUISIANA behind it. A) you can't see her name in any of the shots B) it's said RAGIN' CAJUNS for a significant amount of time and no one has questioned it.
I'm not taking any challenge because that's irrelevant to the discussion happening.
.......So as the announcers observe the Y G name they mention her being the former head coach of the school on the other side of a future flooded river! Just change the damn thing and put her name somewhere in the outfield....I think $2mil! for the Faulkinberry tower! Anybody know the money put up for her? Again, not against the naming but against the over do!
I was talking to a Louisiana State fan the other day about Sagan going to Alabama, and he still couldn’t understand why he went even though Bama waved a multimillion dollar check in his face.
Sometimes, we let our fanhood get in the way of logic. Yvette ran this program on peanuts while simultaneously building a powerhouse. She was offered the world from the school to the east of us. Logically, she had to lookout for her future. So she left. But she came back. I had the chance to briefly meet her during the 2014 Super Regional against Arizona and welcomed her back. She seemed glad to be there.
She was also sitting in the very first row the day that Gerry Glasco had his opening press conference. So yeah, it’s nice to have her back and around the program. It’s hers. She built it.
