You have proof that he couldn’t? I have proof that he turned a team in 2012 that couldn’t hit into a team that hit 70+ homers in 2013. It didn’t matter what high school the kid came from. Deggs expected you to buy in to his pack mentality. He would still be doing that today.

Robichaux has had a few good ones through the years.

Just wondering, why does the assistant coach get blamed for poor team performance in baseball but all other sports the blame is placed on the head coach? Example: Football, some previous posts stated Hud was to blame for our poor offensive performance because he wasn't letting the offensive coordinator call the plays--basketball, our recruiting is terrible, our player development is bad, the blame is on the head coach, etc. With the lack of hitting over multiple assistant coaches, it seems that Robe is the person accountable and not the assistant coach. This is not a Talbot or Wells issue--this is a Robe issue.

Well, I noticed something interesting last night. During a USM mound visit our batter walks down to 1st base to talk to JT while Wells is in the 3rd base coaches box.

    Discuss...

I noticed that also--who is allowing or directing this? Robe. This is not a Wells or Talbot issue, this is a Robe issue.

As the head coach, Robe is ultimately responsible for everything that goes on in the program. If it is happening, it is because he is allowing it to happen. If it is not improving, it is he job to fix it. Our hitting philosophy is the same as last year, who is dictating this?

I saw that also and can pretty certainly say that last year I never saw a batter go to first to visit with Conrad or the year before to visit with Shug when they were the first base coaches. I believe there is something nefarious going on here.

It’s almost like some of us saw this coming last summer when we knew JT would be retained. But we had someone that posts here who is so entrenched in the program tell us that we were already wrong.
