Why are you so butthurt about it?

Would you have been happier had I just said "When the team was good, there were a lot of public school kids with a few privates mixed in. Now its not and there are a lot more private school kids"?
The point is it has nothing to do with private vs public. Those teams had gamers, these teams have soft players. It's ____ty recruiting.

Did you just call all the current players (mostly from private schools) soft?

Seems like you are confirming the OP's observation.

What is relevant are kids that play and do well at tje 6A level in Texas. When you start in a school with 5-7+k students...you are a good player. Competition level is high.

Right now @ Plano Sr baseball.....This team has 3 Big 12 commits; 1 SEC; 1 AAC (My boy...he is out for year) and 7 others committed to D-II or JC. All 12 play travel ball......all 12 were recruited because of their travel ball coaches. Public school coaches in baseball dont do jack squat to market their players to colleges.

FWIW....we are an average 6A team.
Last night's team would be in a ballgame with them. Seriously. Our RPI is 111 today, projected to finish 148. I've seen a dozen high school scout teams that would beat last nights team.

Ryan Gill was a tough AF ball player. Remember him? I loved the way that kid played the game. More recently, Evan Powell and Joe Robbins and Kennon Fontenot were tough, hard nosed players. Hunter Kasuls is tough. I'll add that I think Daniel Lahare is tough and plays the game the right way. I see a lot of it in Orynn Veillon too, and Lahare and Veillon are private school guys.
Not baseball but I've never seen a guy with more fire and emotion than Jake Delhomme.

He was willing to do anything and everything in his power to not lose.

Private school ... at least the 1992 version.

I watched the 1st 5 innings. Painfully fugly baseball. It would have been very possible to beat that team last night. Our HS pitching top 2 (when healthy) would be very competitive, way better than the UNO arms last night....our HS hitting would lag at bottom of order. Our top of order would (TCU/OSU commits) are same or better than what UL top of order showed last night.

    Chase Compton- Slidell
    Ryan Leonards- Notre Dame
    Tyler Girourad- Teurlings
    Jace Conrad- Lafayette
    Tyler Frederick- Acadiana
    Dylan Butler- Archbishop Shaw
    Daniel Nichols-Castle HS (Indiana)
    Chris Sinclair- West Monroe
    Brian Bowman- Lafayette

There’s your everyday 2012 lineup. The last team that finished under .500 for Robe. Lot of public school kids.

    Haha. This is awesome.

I wonder if I had I made the observation "We don't seem to play well when its cold" and posted game temps from games we won that were in the 80s and games we lost that were in the 60's, and said my experience is that its more difficult to hit and throw when its cold.

I'm sure some would say its just a coincidence. I highly doubt that any would have gotten their feathers ruffled like this has.

It's what makes RP fun I guess

I'm pretty sure sportsfanatic21 did not say, "There has never been a successful athlete who came from a private school."

I'm sure we could all list 20 athletes who came from private schools and turned out to be successful professional athletes.

I can personally list 20 from private schools, 20 from public schools and 20 who were awarded a "scholarship" or "grant" to a private school they couldn't afford to attend.
