Yep, people are putting way too much emphasis on how levi palpated in coastal game vs App. The biggest difference in those games are the defenses that we played. Buy Levi some time and he will get the job done. That said, a good QB has to make a few plays even in the face of defensive pressure.

Get him outside the pocket in the next game against App just like he did against Coastal and neutralize their pass rush just a little bit. App is #1 in our conference against the pass and it is obvious by how they controlled us.

Give him plays that develop quickly. We cannot protect agzanst App for deep routes, but the stuff we did against Coastal with slants, etc. In the 8-12 yard window will work vs Ap as well.

I bet our OL wants another chance against App St. They got beat pretty soundly in the first game.

Our shortcomings pre Coastal in the passing game were almost all scheme or play calling related. We were asking Lewis, the OL and the receivers to do things they dont do particularly well. I the Coastal game our offensive philosophy was radically different from earlier games, and in the passing game, it was based almost entirely around things our players can do pretty well.

Player skill did not change, coaching game management changed a LOT. It remains to be seen whether we continue with the Coastal pattern or revert to what we did before.

Or App St has better players and are also well coached. That is why I would like to see the matchup again. Watching both teams this year I think the only position we are better than them is RB, but or OL and DL have played well with the exception of that game. We win the LOS and I think we have a chance to beat them. Scheme cannot overcoming physical mismatches for an entire game.

I understand that completely, I was on the sideline for that game. Clearly there were other concerns across the board, but the offensive line didn't call the plays and they didn't make some of the throws or his lack of decision at times. When I say "the Levy Lewis that played in the Coastal game", I mean his decision making, confidence and the game plan that allowed him to get rid of the football quickly. I understand it's not just simply him throwing the football.

I'm hoping the Cajuns are soon ranked in the top 25 in the 3 or 4 weeks. Keep winning and it is entirely possible. If App. State wins out, and the Cajuns do too, that Champ game between two ranked teams would be a great matchup!

That's my hope and would be the best thing for the conference if both teams win out the rest of their schedules. Has that ever happened in the SBC? To my knowledge the answer is no.

  10. UL Football Levi Lewis delivered in clutch again for Cajuns in capturing historic 10th victory

A game that wound up being decided by field goals -one made, one missed- was supposed to match the Sun Belt Conference's best rushing team against one of the league's premier running backs.

So, naturally, it was the quarterbacks that took center stage, and UL's Levi Lewis won the matchup and was the catalyst for the Ragin' Cajuns making history Saturday night

  11. UL Football Lewis 'not afraid to make mistakes' any longer

Levi Lewis, the Ragin' Cajuns' junior quarterback, has come a long way from a year ago as UL prepares to play Miami (Ohio) in the LendingTree Bowl.

2019 turned out good on the field so I'm hoping for a better 2020
