I think we were 12 years between Super Regionals. It seems we are bottoming out somewhere near here.

I was going to say bottoms are not pretty, but it all depends on the bottom.
Your first paragraph is spot on. It is so difficult to stay on top when you are not a premier program. Look at Bama. Seriously bad spell of baseball the past couple of years.
We will play better when we get better players. Selling UL is a lot harder job than most people realize and takes a lot more work to find impact players not committed to SEC and Big 12 schools.

    And it starts tomorrow!
Get on a streak and get above 500 after this weekend!

Baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint. Where have I heard that?
If you consider 10 games a fair sample size(I would rather see 15-20 games) our record is worse than most people expected. The errors, poor bunting , and atrocious bullpen are the reasons.
But having seen the last 2 games, I saw much improvement, and I hope along with all of you that is a sign of trending up. We shall see.

We are not getting blown out. I do worry about pitching cracking from the pressure at some point. We lost Friday without giving an earned run. If pitching holds up a winning season is possible.

I mentioned this after the APC was built, i think coaches need to be careful in recruiting when you get nice new shiny facilities. If you let the facilities do your recruiting you can get the wrong type of guys. You can end up with guys who are here for the wrong reasons.

Well I thought Robe would run out of gas immediately after his sons left the program.

He sure has proved me wrong.

It doesn't matter what he found to keep motivated, he did.

I'm with you on this. Changes were made this year. Obviously changes don't translate overnight therefore Robe gets at least two years IMO to right the ship. At that point you should see better players coming in from a full time recruiter and better hitting.

That being said basketball should win no less than 20 games with their current scheduling. I believe if they don't get to 20 this year you have to force a shakeup to the staff. I'm ok with 10-4 at home. I don't like losing to the bottom teams but it happens.

How so? HOW is it Talbot's fault now? He isn't the hitting coach is he? He isn't the pitching coach, is he? Is he the baserunning coach? Is he the defense coach? What EXACTLY is he doing NOW, to be the problem with the team?

He played a pretty big part in getting the players here that are doing so wonderful right now. He is obviously still influential on the base paths as he is the first base coach. Our approach at the plate looks the same as the last 4 years and once again obviously reeks of JT. The man is toxic to this program. It’s been time for him to leave. And I’ll say with much certainly that as long as he is on staff you will see the continued downfall of this baseball program.

Dude, is reading a struggle for you ? Where in my post did I mention JT ? I said it’s a “shared” responsibility. Look around.

It is Tony’s job to fix it, whatever it is. Im sure he would be the first man to tell you that. A lot of baseball left and plenty of opportunities. Its up to the coaches and players to take advantage of those opportunities or they will spend yet another Memorial Day relaxing by the pool.

So you think we should have let Houston hire him as their full time recruiter.
