Late offensive heroics in both contests led to two exciting walk-off victories for the Louisiana baseball team, which swept Maryland in Saturday's doubleheader, 4-3 and 2-1, respectively, at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

The Ragin' Cajuns (3-7) needed 14 innings to decide the first game on Saturday, its longest extra-innings affair since going 14 frames on February 20, 2017, at Southeastern Louisiana, while Louisiana needed two ninth-inning runs in the second game to complete the Saturday sweep.

After struggling in tight games early in the season, Louisiana is now 2-3 in one-run games and 1-2 in extra-inning contests.

Eight different players recorded a hit for Louisiana across the two games, with Sebastian Toro and Handsome Monica each producing multi-hit efforts. Toro was responsible for two of the Ragin' Cajuns' three RBI on the evening, the other coming from O'Neal Lochridge.

Freshmen Connor Cooke and Blake Schultz each earned their first career victories as Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday. Cooke closed out Game One with 1.0 innings pitched and a strikeout, whereas Schultz saw 2.1 innings of action, allowing just two hits and striking out three batters in Game Two.

Maryland's (6-4) Sean Fisher and Sean Heine suffered the losses in the two games.
