Well to be honest Coker would have made it seem routine.

    Yep

Can’t remember a more excruciating doubleheader.
Happy we found a way to outlast a bad team twice.

Hard to find optimism for the rest of the season. If there is any, it was manifest in the from of a bullpen. Pitching absolutely carried this team. Defense was better. But base running, coaching decisions, roster management, and obviously offense is as bad as I’ve seen under Robe.

I’ll be back Tuesday though. Glutton for punishment.

I’m pretty sure there’s some gluten free foods at the park. 😉

Bad hitting, bad defense, horrible base running, better that average pitching. We are a bad team folks. I was thinking 32 wins before the season and that seems like light years away.

Eventually some things were gonna start going our way after being wakked off so many times. Things maybe are starting to even out a bit. Which will probably be the norm this year. I don’t see above a .500 record

    Regarding Windham/Lochridge:

Back in 2010, we were well below .500 and had a ton of trouble at the corners. Robe made a move to solidify 3rd and 1st base defensively. He brought in a freshman with good leather at 3rd, T-Fred over upperclassmen, and put Jut at 1st. We then won like 25 of 26 and beat Rice in the Texas regional.

I’m not a fan of Lochridge at 3rd, but I’m also not a fan of Windham’s bat. So I don’t know what the answer is. I also felt MUCH more confident with Monica at first. Im prejudiced to a BIG target at first. A lot of the throwing errors should have been routine cover ups for a good first baseman.

Has anyone run the number in Unearned runs and how many w’s the errors have cost us?

Defense was very good yesterday. Friday night was a different story.

12 unearned runs total on the year. All four runs in the Friday Maryland game were unearned. And 6 of the 9 runs in the second game of the double header at Sam Houston were unearned. And you could argue the one unearned run at Tech cost them a win also.

The ball going between outfielders legs and rolling to the wall cost us one of the Texas games didn’t it?

...Haven't seen pre game infield work in a while...notice that in addition to the normal grounders to the infielders, they were hit some where they even had to dive to make the play and some choppers that they had to charge and some bare hand bunt types——do other teams do this type of infield? young Billey are you getting questions?....btw Maryland pregame....also liked the Maryland flag on their stockings....we could do a FDL maybe!
