Now you asked a valid question, "Have the last couple of seasons really been that bad?" In comparison to what standard? If you are comparing the standard that was set while Coach Deggs was a member of his staff with the past three seasons of not making a regional, then yes it has been bad. Coach Robichaux has said it is not the standard he set for this program and built a quality stadium to. That is the reason he made the changes in his staff.
My fault in replying to your post. I understand where you’re coming from and my post wasn’t meant to be directed at you but rather the numerous haters that seem to get off on the negativity.

None of us are happy with the recent baseball results. Every coach should be questioned on their decisions, but lets keep everything in perspective. Yes, Robe is a victim of his own success. He has raised the standard. Winning seasons record wise are no longer a success unless it leads to regional wins and conference championships; that is a product of our current coach.

Has the game passed him by? I think anyone that says that is clueless.

Here’s a great interview with Coach Robichaux prior to the Texas series where he discusses the evolution of the game (analytics, etc), building the program and also the current state of our team and what it takes to be successful with an inexperienced pitching staff. Worth a listen in my opinion.

If someone can post a proper link please go ahead, obviously the internet has passed me by.

Scouts find baseball talent. They find it in the hinterlands, big cities, foreign shores. If you’re good enough you’ll get rewarded.

For those folks, Veillon is not Corey Coles, BJ Ryan or Seth Harrison. Threw one inning in 4 years.

How did he look on the mound in scrimmages/fall etc? Obviously there is something there that warrants using him in a pressure situation.

Can't spin that _____ show. Sorry. Swept by a Southland team with multiple wak offs, coached by a former assistant, who was here for the best cajun team I've seen.

    It simply gets no worse.

You guys need to get on the same page. We are supposed to go on how veillon threw in scrimmages to justify him coming in but we have to use real games to figure out whether our guys have what it takes to pitch. Which is it?

Who cares what any pitcher who threw after 6th inning last weekend looked like 3 months ago? The all sucked.

On a brighter note, the defense looked better with just 2 errors at Sam. Cantrelle hit better Sunday,

Erbe is ranked as one of the top Juco players in the country right now on Perfect Game https://www.perfectgame.org/Articles...?article=16018

His command seems to be getting better and if I recall Robe had wanted him to go and get some innings; 9 walks in 31 innings while top 3 in the country in innings pitched...good to see him figuring it out

What are the chances we get Erne, Faucher and Coker back after going the juco route.

Sounds like Erbe headed for pro ball.
