Thread: BB G3: Louisiana @ Sam Houston State

The way I see it, the two things which got A LOT of fans acting over the top are:

    1. Tony putting Veillon in to pitch (resulting in a disaster)
    2. Getting swept by a Southland team

HUGE bonus reason to bítch: the Southland team who swept us is coached by our former assistant. An assistant who apparently was the reason for a lot (if not all) of our success over the last decade.

Had Batty or Stone closed out game 1 for a win, Veillon never goes to the mound and we don't get swept. The season is currently still a mess, but the torches and pitchforks would have remained in the barn.

Had Veillon closed out the game for the win, Tony is f'n genius and we don't get swept. Thanks Tony.

My opinion, that was not the time to see what Veillon could do. Wednesday night with bases loaded at tech in the 9th was not the time to see what Colton frank could do either. Every other disappointment so far has been “ baseball”

Your comment about former assistant Deggs has a lot of merit. Of course only for the objective and open minded type Cajun fan!

When is the time to see Veillon and Franks? Conference series? Or in February ?

Not in a weekend series on the road when you're playing an opponent that can boost your RPI. Do that an early mid-week game.

My issue with the Veillon thing is he's listed as an OF not OF/RHP. He had one appearance at UNO from what I saw. It was the first game of a weekend series. If we don't have pitching to have an option other than him that early in a weekend, we have major problems and the preparation recruiting and development-wise for the season was a failure.

We had three arms last year that aren't with us this year:

Haden Erbe is 4-0 with 31 IP and a 2.61 ERA with 34K (Seminole State)
Brett Williams - I can't find any of his stats.
Jacob Norman - 2.2 IP 6.75 ERA (LSUA)
