This about says it all in a nutshell.

I love Robe. I love his coaching style. I love his two boys. He has brought this university to places with the baseball program that I don't think many have dreamed it would be.

However, over the course of the last 6 games he has made many, many, many coaching decisions that are just not Rob'ish. This combined with lack of performance from those that we have high expectations of have left us at 1 and 5 on the season.

The puzzling part for me is that why we have at times moved away from coaching philosophies and game managements stratigies which in the past Robe has used to cover up deficiencies we are experiencing. That and pressing in coaching decisions has hurt us tremendously in these first 6 games.

I thought last year Robe squeezed every drop out of a team with a pop gun offense. This year even the coaches look poorly coached. Putting Orynn in to pitch was a desperate move, signaling serious issues with this team.

One thing I love about our baseball fanbase is that we have a ton of knowledgeable baseball lifers that understand the game in depth. Some of that is due to Tony. But when I see some of these guys and they give me the ‘shrug’, there really isn’t anything to say. Sometimes, when it rains, it pours. And sometimes, there is a deeper problem.

I don’t know which one UL baseball falls under in 2019. Yet.

That's my point. In the past, I always felt that Robe was able to make sure we pitched and played defense way above our heads, even if we had absolutely no power or only 1 or 2 game changers at the plate. This season just feels different.

Hopefully they're working out kinks and will get it figured out, but coaching seems to be at fault (or at least partially at fault) for a lot of our issues early on.

I saw lots of shrugs last year @ManAboutTown. I suspect the shrugging has returned.

Last year was different. Everything was good but offense. So, he coached around it. I thought he was masterful.

This year everything sux. Can't coach around everything.

And the amazing part of it all is, I see a better team on the field. I don’t even think it’s close.

So far in this season when pitching is good, hitting isn't. When hitting well, the bullpen has been terrible. As I see it we need to find a late inning relief man and closer. Give it time. It's only six games

So do I. Heads and shoulders more talented. Played a good Texas team close. The clown show yesterday tells me something is very wrong, tho.

This may be a team of great volatility. Win by 10 one day. Lose by 12 the next.

Come on CajunRage, here you go again. I don't see many giving Coach Rob a pass in this thread and for the same reason Coach Marlin isn't getting it right now, it's their recruits and pretty much the same staff.

Yes, I'm still waiting to hear how Marlin has the deck stacked against him......
