Guess you're not interested in building on success. Are we seriously having this conversation? Glasco got thrown into a soap opera, dumpster fire, whatever you want to call it. Mass exodus of all americans. Entire new staff. Tragedy. And haven't missed a beat. Baseball lost a coach and it's been downhill from there.
Quit taking fastballs early in the count! Swing the bat aggressively early in the count. Make hard contact. Eliminate the guessing game deep in the count. If we do that...we would be a much better offensive team
Missing my point.
The offense is outperforming last year's squad to this point in the season. My comment was referring to the fact that we have a lot of fresh faces on the diamond. Everywhere. Couple that with a new hitting system, and you have a recipe for a slow start.
More to my point, Robe's teams have ALWAYS lived and died with the pitching staff. We have no bullpen and are one injury away from a train wreck of a rotation.
I don't see how anyone looking at this situation would think we had a good shot at a regional.
Now, Robe may pull a rabbit this year. He's done it before, but it's not like we have 30 wins returning in the rotation and a squad about to set school records for home runs.
Which goes back to not building off the success of 2014. Here we are in 2019 and there are question marks with pitching, new hitting system, etc. What's going to be the excuse in 2020?
The only building off the success of 2014 that was done was a new ballpark.
And it was pointed out numerous times after the 2018 debacle....Tony has never missed the postseason 3 years in a row. So what happens when we don't make a regional in 2019?
